Neptune Room to host wedding show

A gown, a cake, a photographer — part of the many choices to make before the “big day.”

Church or beach? Reception hall?

The Anna Maria Island Love Wedding Show promises to be the perfect event to see, hear and taste the best of what the local wedding industry can provide.

The show will be 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 26, in the Neptune Room at the Seafood Shack Marina, Bar and Grill, 4110 127th St. W., Cortez. Wedding show guests can arrive by boat — the marina lies at 27 degrees 28 minutes north latitude and 82 degrees 41 minutes west longitude — Marker 49 on the Intracoastal Waterway.

“The Neptune Room is the ideal place for the show because it’s an exquisite wedding or reception location,” said organizer Karen Riley-Love.

In addition to the nautical-chic atmosphere, the 6,000-square-foot banquet room provides cuisine by executive chef Gerard Jesse, who “is passionate about the use of local, seasonal produce and locally caught seafood,” Love said. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Jesse’s resume includes work at the Ritz-Carlton and Michael’s On East in Sarasota. Samples of his creations will be available for tasting at the show.

“Neptune Room event manager Brandy Hudson has a degree in event planning and, having recently married, she provides couples with personal knowledge of current trends, styles and vendors,” Love added.
