Breathalyzer tests registered more than three times the legal limit for a Bradenton man charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Dale Decola, 30, of Bradenton, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. July 10 by Holmes Beach Police Officer Alan Bores, who was conducting radar in the 5200 block of Gulf Drive.
Bores reported the Honda sedan Decola was driving crossed the solid yellow and white lines.
Decola told Bores he’d been fishing at the beach.
When Bores asked how much alcohol the driver had consumed, Decola replied “not much at all.”
Bores transported Decola to the Manatee County jail, where he provided two breath samples measuring 0.256 and 0.249 blood-alcohol content. The legal limit is 0.08.
Decola posted a $500 bond and was released.
The state attorney charged Decola July 19 with a second-degree misdemeanor DUI of 0.15 or higher. Ten days later, Decola’s attorney filed to exclude evidence of a field-sobriety eye test, stating no state expert had been identified.
Decola’s arraignment is at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
