Jenah Victor-Smith of Anna Maria is this week’s winner in the newspaper’s Top Notch contest, winning front-page placement of the photo and an Islander newspaper “More-Than-A-Mullet wrapper” T-shirt. The photograph of Nathaniel Victor-Smith features more than a touch of irony — the boy in the “One Tough Cookie” T-shirt is crying over the Hot Wheels car he received for his birthday. The photographer summed up the boy’s sentiment, “Not what he wanted.” Victor-Smith’s photograph will go into a pool of weekly winners eligible for the grand prize of $100 from the newspaper and a bevy of gift certificates and other prizes from Islander advertisers.
