March 4, 200 block of Pine Avenue, suspicious circumstances. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about a car alarm. The caller stated she is elderly and her alarm was sounding throughout the day. The deputy found no one in the area and the complainant’s vehicle was secure.
March 5, Harry’s Grill, 9903 Gulf Drive, noise. The MCSO dispatched a deputy regarding a complaint of loud music. The business complied with the deputy’s direction to turn down the music.
March 6, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, noise. The MCSO received a complaint of “rowdy” behavior. The deputy found loud renters and issued a citation.
March 6, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, drugs. The MCSO dispatched a deputy regarding a complaint of a strong smell of marijuana from a neighboring yard. The deputy did not locate anyone.
March 6, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, disturbance. The MCSO received a complaint of people outside yelling, harassing a complainant and smoking marijuana. The caller reported feeling unsafe. Deputies reported the rental property owner was notified.
March 8, Harry’s Grill, 9903 Gulf Drive, noise. The MCSO dispatched a deputy regarding a complaint of loud music from a business. The deputy reported the music did not violate the noise ordinance.
March 9, 500 block of Pine Avenue, vandalism. The MCSO received a complaint that dust from contractors cutting marble coated a vehicle. The deputy filed an incident report.

Bradenton Beach
March 5, Bradenton Beach boat anchorage, 200 Bridge St., abandoned boat. A Bradenton Beach police officer located a drifting derelict vessel that was later secured to the Historic Bridge Street Pier. The officer reached out to the owner, who said she did not have the resources to care for the vessel. She surrendered the boat’s title to the BBPD and it was removed from the dock and anchored while awaiting disposal.
March 7, Coquina Park, 2650 S. Gulf Drive, trespass warning. A Manatee County public works employee informed a BBPD officer that a man had been observed sleeping in the park for multiple days. The officer located the man sleeping on a bench and issued a trespass warning.

Holmes Beach
Feb. 28, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, marijuana possession. An officer from the Holmes Beach Police Department stopped a motorist pinged by the license plate recognition system. The officer smelled marijuana and asked if the driver had been smoking. The driver produced a marijuana cigarette, and the officer issued a citation.
Feb. 28, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, property damage. A beachgoer called HBPD to report a tire was slashed while she was at the beach. The officer issued a case number.
Feb. 28, Freckled Fin Irish Pub, 5337 Gulf Drive, Marchman Act. The pub’s manager called HBPD to report an intoxicated man unconscious in a nearby alley. An officer deemed the man unfit to care for himself and transported him to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for treatment.
March 2, 4900 block of Second Avenue, no license. An officer stopped a motorist who failed to brake at a stop sign. The driver did not have a license. The officer issued a citation.
March 2, Wells Fargo Bank, 5327 Gulf Drive, recovered property. Bank employees called HBPD to report they found a firearm and ammunition in a safety deposit box while preparing the property for closure. There was no listed owner. An officer placed the items in storage.
March 2, 400 block of 75th Street, property damage. A resident called HBPD to report a motorist hit their mailbox. Officers recovered a video.
March 3, 6200 block of Marina Drive, domestic battery. Officers responded to a call about a father and son fighting and found the pair grappling. The officers arrested the pair after collecting statements from family members at the scene.
March 4, 300 block of 68th Street, domestic battery. Officers were dispatched in response to a domestic violence call and found a man who said his brother-in-law struck him. Family members corroborated the story. Officers arrested the suspect after he confessed.
March 5, 5300 block of Gulf Drive, no license. An officer stopped a motorist driving a golf cart for failing to stay in a lane. The driver did not have a license and the golf cart was not registered. The officer issued citations and called for a tow company to retrieve the vehicle.
March 6, 200 block of Harbor Lane, no license. An officer stopped a motorist pinged by the license plate recognition system. The driver didn’t have a license and was cited.
March 6, 600 block of Manatee Avenue, attempting to flee from officer. An officer attempted to stop a motorist pinged by the license plate recognition system but the driver fled. A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy later reported they detained the driver, who was issued multiple citations.
March 7, 3900 block of East Bay Drive, suspended license. An officer stopped a motorist pinged by the license plate recognition system. The driver was not insured and his license was suspended. The officer issued multiple citations.
March 7, 300 block of 67th Street, grand theft. A person called the HBPD to report she paid almost $9,000 to rent a vacation property, but the posting was fake and the property was managed by a different rental agency. The person provided officers with the emails used by the fraudulent rental agency.
