A Holmes Beach police officer March 6 arrested Bradenton resident Jordan Thurman, 22, on a second-degree misdemeanor charge for driving while under the influence.
The officer spotted a vehicle speeding east on Manatee Avenue traveling 55 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone.
The officer stopped the driver and observed Thurman’s bloodshot eyes. He smelled alcohol and asked Thurman to complete field sobriety tests.
The officer detained Thurman after she failed the field tests.
However, Thurman refused to provide breath samples for blood/alcohol tests when asked at the station.
The officer transported Thurman to the Manatee County jail, where she was released later the same day after posted a $120 bail bond.
An arraignment will be held at 8:25 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
The second-degree misdemeanor charge carries varying punishments, including fines and up to nine months in jail for a first conviction.
