Richard E. Stomp

Richard E. Stomp, 90, formerly of Anna Maria Island, died Aug. 2.

He was born in Cleveland and moved to Manatee County in 1982 from Waterford, Michigan.

He served 1951-54 in the U.S. Marine Corp, receiving the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Ribbon and U.S. Service Medal.

His career was in the tool and die, plastic engineering business and later in hospitality.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date in Anna Maria.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy A., Darleen N. and Rhonda S.; sons Kurt S., Todd S., and Ross S.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
