Holmes Beach police arrested Pittsburgh-resident Aaron Archibald, 36, Jan. 26 on a second-degree misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The HBPD officer observed a vehicle being driven recklessly on Manatee Avenue and conducted a traffic stop.
The officer spoke with the driver, Archibald, who smelled of alcohol and slurred his speech, according to the police report.
The officer requested backup and, after it arrived, had Archibald perform field sobriety exercises, which he failed.
Police arrested Archibald and transported him to the HBPD for processing, where he registered 0.182 and 0.176 grams of ethanol per deciliter of blood in two blood/alcohol level tests.
The legal blood/alcohol content limit for driving under the influence is 0.08 in Florida.
An officer transported Archibald to the Manatee County jail, where he was released Jan. 27 after posting a $120 bail bond.
The charge carries varying punishments, including fines and up to nine months in prison for a first conviction.
An arraignment will be at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
