Dec. 17, Publix, 3900 E. Bay Drive, arrest warrant. The Holmes Beach Police Department was contacted around 11:35 a.m. by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office about a motorist driving into the city who had an active out-of-county arrest warrant for trafficking narcotics. HBPD officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. They confirmed the identity of the driver and the warrant for her arrest, then arrested her and transported her to the Manatee County jail.

Dec. 18, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, marijuana. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a motorist for a code violation. The officer smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle and, during a search, found a bag containing about 14 grams of marijuana. The officer confiscated the marijuana and issued citations.

Dec. 20, 2500 block of Gulf Drive, possession/use of drug equipment. An officer was approached around 12:20 a.m. by a woman who asked for help locating a property she had rented in the past. The officer found the woman suspicious, so he ran the license plate of the vehicle she got into and found its registered owner, the driver, had an expired license. The officer spoke to the driver, who could not provide proof of insurance. So the officer issued citations and had the vehicle towed. Two officers searched the vehicle and found a case that contained a burnt metal bowl with white residue inside, among other items. The residue field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The officers arrested the woman and transported her to the Manatee County jail.
