Dale Eugene Crall
Dale Eugene Crall, 89, retired, a long-standing resident of Holmes Beach, died Jan. 5.
Born March 30, 1936, in Midland, Michigan, he was the third of seven children of Maurice and Dorothy (Tucker) Crall.
Mr. Crall served in the U.S. Navy Reserves, including two years of active duty on Pacific Fleet deployments.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Roser Memorial Community Church, 512 Pine Ave., Anna Maria, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. A Navy Honor Team out of Jacksonville will provide military honors at the service.
He became one of the first people trained in IBM systems through Traders National Bank. He also served as the inaugural pastor of West Church of the Nazarene in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Upon completing his degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary, he served as the inaugural pastor of West Church of the Nazarene in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From there, he went on to work with Lear Siegler Corporation, and then-prestigious Seidman & Seidman CPA firm as both a computer manager and consultant.

Mr. Crall later became special assistant to the Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation, with a key role in the department’s Operations Review Group.
In 1991, he retired to Anna Maria Island with his wife, Janice, and continued to work in accounting and tax preparation with a variety of clients on the island.

Mr. Crall is survived by daughter Carrie L. Williams; son Michael D.; sister Nancy Bauerle of Midland, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; 12 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
