Bradenton Beach commissioners on Feb. 19 will consider authorizing correspondence to former city attorney Ricinda Perry regarding disputed invoices for 2025.
An agenda item for the meeting stems from a Jan. 9 memo from city attorney Erica Augello to the mayor and commissioners stating staff concerns after Perry submitted what Augello described as “bulk billing” for multiple months.
According to Augello, Perry submitted an Excel workbook last October with January-September entries, including revisions related to Federal Emergency Management Agency matters. Augello’s memo said staff had requested Perry’s invoices be submitted on a more regular basis.
Augello said a review flagged discrepancies, including entries for services that might not have occurred on the listed dates, billings that appeared to exceed the number of hours in a day, work billed at rates that contradict Perry’s agreement with the city and charges for services described as outside the scope of approved legal work.
Because of those issues, Augello said she was asked to examine the city’s engagement agreement with Perry and determine what options the city might have regarding payment.
Perry served as the city’s attorney through much of 2025 before resigning in September.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Bradenton Beach City Hall, 107 Gulf Drive N.
