The state attorney’s office dropped a second-degree felony charge against Devon Guidry Jr., 29, of Bradenton, Dec. 30, 2025, for alleged burglary of an unoccupied structure.
Holmes Beach police arrested Guidry in November. He was found sleeping in a vacation rental property without the permission of its owner, according to court records. The owner wanted to press charges, but Guidry had already been trespassed and released from custody.
Guidry was found the next day, allegedly trespassing on another property. He was arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail, where he remained with a $15,150 bond as of Feb. 18.
Guidry was initially charged with a second-degree felony, as well as a first-degree misdemeanor for trespass in an unoccupied structure/conveyance and a second-degree misdemeanor for loitering and prowling.
In addition to dropping the felony charge, the SAO reduced the first-degree misdemeanor to a second-degree misdemeanor.
A hearing is scheduled for March 17 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
