BBPD makes burglary arrest

A man found passed out in a resort room bathtub is facing a felony charge of burglary to an unoccupied dwelling in Bradenton Beach.

Bradenton Beach Police Department Officer Eric Hill arrested Paul Shelton Means, 43, Nov. 30 in the 100 block of Bridge Street on the burglary charge.

Hill’s report states that Means was found naked and “passed out” in the bathtub of an unrented resort room. The bath water was running, the report indicated.

Means, a painter, allegedly told the officer in expletive laced language that a woman had rented the room for the night but “arrest me.”

The BBPD report stated that Means resisted as he was taken into custody, attempting to bang his head on a door, as well as threatening Hill and attempting to kick the officer.

Means was taken to the Manatee County jail, where he was booked and then released on personal recognizance.

As of Islander press time, an arraignment date in circuit court was not set.
