• Feb. 26, 100 block of Hammock Drive, information. Two residents said that on separate occasions a man on a bicycle followed them home.
• March 1, 400 block of South Bay Boulevard, animal complaint. A woman said she suffered minor scrapes when she fell while trying to protect her dog from a neighbor’s dog.
Bradenton Beach
• March 3, 100 block of Bridge Street, traffic offense. Bradenton Beach Police Department officers observed a white pickup truck because of similarities to a report of a stolen purse on Bridge Street. The driver was stopped, and a records check indicated that the driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested.
• March 3, Gulf Drive and Longboat Pass Bridge, assist. BBPD officers assisted with traffic after the Longboat Pass Bridge was closed following a small fire in a transformer at the bridge.
Cortez
• No new reports.
Holmes Beach
• Feb. 25, 500 block of Key Royale Drive, reckless driving. The Holmes Beach Police Department arrested a man for several offenses after he allegedly veered off Key Royale Drive and struck a mailbox in an attempt to scare a passenger.
• Feb. 26, 600 block of Manatee Avenue West, theft. Holmes Beach Police Department responded to a report from the CVS that several juveniles stole two cases of beer, fleeing from the store through a rear emergency door. An officer found several juveniles with two cases of beer nearby. One juvenile was arrested for theft. Other juveniles were given notices to appear for underage drinking.
• March 1, 700 block of Key Royale Drive, property damage. The HBPD responded to a report of damages to the Key Royale Club golf course. Someone damaged the course in a golf cart.
