Traffic was at an impasse at 2710 Gulf Drive at the Cedar Cove Resort in Holmes Beach April 8 after a power line fell on the road. Eyewitnesses said the power line snapped and fell at about 10 a.m. and the repairs were completed by 1:45 p.m. Eric Cairns of Cedar Cove said an SUV ran over the power line and the cable appeared to arc and explode, causing the driver to stop and check his tires, and finding no damage, he drove on.
