A man convicted in Lakeland in 1995 of two sexual offenses involving a minor recently moved from Tampa to Bradenton Beach.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported the 65-year-old man moved from Tampa to the 1600 block of Gulf Drive North in late August. The address is listed as temporary by the FDLE.
The man was convicted in 1995 of one count of sexual battery/solicitation of a child as a principal in the attempt, and in the same case convicted of one count of sexual battery/solicitation by an adult of a child under the age of 12.
He has since been released from custody and probation, but is still required to report any address change to local and state authorities.
With the recent departure of two convicted sex offenders from Bradenton Beach, the subject is the only known convicted sex offender living in the city.
Two convicted sex offenders live in Holmes Beach, one in the 6400 block of Flotilla Drive and the other in the 600 block of Dundee Lane.
No convicted sex offenders are listed in Anna Maria, according to the FDLE website.
Two convicted sex offenders live in the Cortez area, including a 72-year-old man residing in the 4400 block of 125th Street West. The man was convicted in Manatee County in May 2010 for possession of child pornography. The FDLE reported the man is under house confinement for his conviction and moved to the Cortez address in August.
The other convicted sex offender in the Cortez area lives in the 4200 block of 129th Street West according to the FDLE.
Bradenton Beach Police Chief Sam Speciale said his department is aware of the recent arrival of a sex offender to Bradenton Beach and officers already have been to the address to speak to the man and verify his identity.
