A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office employee who helped a family living in their car in Bradenton Beach has earned the agency’s award for employee of the month.
Sheriff Brad Steube announced the award to Ashley Eannarino in late September.
On March 10, Eannarino received a case related to a father and child who were homeless and possibly living in a vehicle near a convenience store in Bradenton Beach.
The sheriff said Eannarino interviewed the store clerks, but they did not have information on the family’s whereabouts.
So Eannarino drove around Bradenton Beach and found the man and his child in a vehicle in a parking lot so she could assist them.
“Ashley took the extra steps necessary to find this family, ensure the safety of the child and help to obtain assistance for both, for which she is awarded Employee of the Month for September 2011,” Steube said in a news release. “Congratulations!”
