Three men face charges of misdemeanor battery after allegedly punching a man who told them to slow down while driving in Cortez.
A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office probable cause report stated that at about 1:15 a.m. Oct. 30, several men were driving past a home on 119th Street West in Cortez.
A party was taking place at a residence in the 4400 block. When the occupants of the vehicle were told by a party host that they should slow down in Cortez, one allegedly punched the host. The report did not specify which individual punched the host.
The report indicated that the men returned to their vehicle and left, but went back to the residence an hour later armed with a wooden stick, two plastic rods and a metal hook.
