Shirley Brown Van Winkle
Shirley Brown Van Winkle, 69, of Stratham, N.H., Anna Maria Island and Antigny, France, died in Bradenton April 24, following a brief illness. She was born in Bryan, Texas.
She graduated from Texas Christian University and received a master’s degree in English from Louisiana State University. She was an accomplished writer and enjoyed a real estate career in Austin.

Mrs. Van Winkle is survived by husband Edward S.; daughter Ana Marie Cox of St. Paul, Minn.; stepchildren Pieter K. of Vashon, Wash., and Hannah K. of Brooklyn; brother Charles E. Brown III of Round Rock, Texas, and many cousins of the Caldwell family.
