A Cortez man was charged Sept. 13 with aggravated battery, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Demetrios George Kokolis, 23, of Cortez and a corporate officer for Gulf Drive Cafe, 900 Gulf Drive N., Bradenton Beach, was arrested at 4:48 a.m. in downtown Bradenton, according to the report.
At around 2:43 a.m., Kokolis, his girlfriend and a 23-year-old complainant were in the 1200 block of Fourth Avenue West, according to the report, when Kokolis pushed and punched the man, knocking out one of his upper teeth and damaging other teeth.
Kokolis, according to the report, denied any battery and claimed the man fell while assisting his girlfriend, who he said also had fallen.
The man went to Manatee Memorial Hospital for medical attention.
Kokolis was released Sept. 21 from Manatee County jail on $5,000 bond.
