Bradenton Beach
Sept. 23, 1400 Gulf Drive South, found property. A Coquina Beach visitor turned in a diamond ring at the Bradenton Beach Police Department. She told police she found it on the ground while walking the trail. The ring, estimated to be worth $500, contains three diamonds set in 14k white gold. It was secured by BBPD.
Sept. 28, 100 block of Bridge Street, lost property. The owner of a five-string violin who lent her instrument to a friend reported it lost. She told police she had given it to a musician, now in the hospital, so he could play on Bridge Street. The violin was in a nap sack with additional items belonging to her friend, who set the sack on a bench along the sidewalk and walked away. The violin was valued at $2,000. A wallet and clothing valued at $175, passport, driver’s license and debit and medical cards, also were reported missing.

Holmes Beach
Sept. 25, 500 block of 70th Street, burglary. A homeowner who returned to his residence after several months out of state reported a burglary. Morgan silver dollars of various years, 1886, 1921, 1922 and 1923, valued at $110 were reported missing. A neighbor watching the home had called him in July to report someone had attempted to open a set of sliding-glass doors, which were found locked but out of the track.
Sept. 25, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, trespass and open container. A homeless man with an open can of beer was arrested after he attempted to elude police, who saw him peek his head out of the bushes, walk around the block and then enter an illegally parked car at the Manatee Public Beach. The man had previously been issued a trespass warning from the beach. Police required him to exit the car and dump out his beer, then transferred him to MCSO custody for booking at Manatee County jail.
Sept. 29, 3800 block of East Bay Drive, domestic battery. An 18-year-old Bradenton woman was arrested after a verbal argument with a man she had been dating for more than a year turned physical. According to a police report, the woman admitted to striking the man and pushed him away from her. The man had fresh scratches on his lip, arm, stomach and chest. The man reportedly was uncooperative and declined to answer questions.
