Gene A. Hunt
Gene A. Hunt, 85, of Holmes Beach, died Sept. 28. He was born in Falconer, New York, and moved to Manatee County in 1958.
Mr. Hunt was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked in maintenance for and retired from Manatee County Extension Service. He was a member of American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24. He attended Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria.
A memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Roser Church, 512 Pine Ave., Anna Maria. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, Bradenton, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made online at www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
Mr. Hunt is survived by brother Gary; survived by son Scott and wife Leigh; daughter, Marsha and husband Matt LaVallee, all of Bradenton; grandchildren, Chris and wife Brittany, Casey and Sydney; great-grandchild Kayden; and his beloved dog Charlie.

E. Muriel Thayer, 100, of Longboat Key, died Sept. 26.
She was an island resident for 30 years and a member of the Annie Silver Community Center on Anna Maria Island for 30 years.
There will be no local services.
