The Manatee Board of County Canvassers has certified election results for the Nov. 4 contest in Bradenton Beach.
The winner from Ward 4, incumbent Commissioner Jan Vosburgh, faced resident Tjet Martin in the election.
Martin received 29.18 percent of the vote, 143 votes, but it wasn’t enough to defeat Vosburgh, who received 70.82 percent of the vote, 347 votes.
Bradenton Beach Commissioner Ed Straight ran unopposed in Ward 2 and closed out his campaign fund by repaying himself $52 from a $100 loan he made to start the account. According to the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections website, the other $48 went to pay Straight’s qualifying fee.
Martin’s final campaign report shows $529 in donations. Martin said to repay a portion of the $180 she donated to start the campaign fund, she retained the remaining $15 in the account after the Nov. 4 election.
Vosburgh’s campaign received nearly $4,000 in contributions, including $348 that she contributed to her campaign. When closing out her account, Vosburgh donated the remaining $68 to the Bridge Street Merchants. Vosburgh thanked the BSM for its support of her candidacy during the election.
