The Florida Department of Transportation encourages motorists to slow down and use caution when approaching work crews on or along roadsides, where exceeding the speed limit can double the fine.
The DOT has issued the following alert:
• SR 684/Cortez Road at the Cortez Bridge from east of Gulf Drive to west of 127th Street West: Crews will work on the bridge piles jackets, span locks and complete punch list items. Work on the project has involved general maintenance and repairs to the bridge span, beams, piling, seawall and bridge tender house. Expected completion is March 2015.
