A 20-year-old Anna Maria motorist was issued a citation for driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped for a broken taillight by the Holmes Beach Police Department.
William P. Edwards was detained at 1 a.m. March 18 and issued a .02 violation.
Edwards told police he’d been at work and at a friend’s house.
Edwards failed two tests, measuring .042 and .048 in blood alcohol content. The legal limit for drivers under age 21 is .02.
He called his mother to take control of the vehicle.
