Police activity in Holmes Beach rose during spring break this year — more than quadrupling last year’s alcohol citations and doubling the number of parking violations.
“Though the numbers are up, I’m thankful our spring breakers were very well behaved,” said HBPD Chief Bill Tokajer.
The spring break periods measured were March 1 to the end of the first week of April.
HBPD issued 62 alcohol violations this year compared to 15 in 2014, he said.
Parking tickets rose from 322 in 2014 to 764 in 2015, Tokajer added.
