Anna Maria

April 2, 500 block of South Bay Boulevard, found property. A wallet was found on the beach.

April 3, 400 block of South Bay Boulevard, found property. Knives were found.

April 4, 200 block of Gladiolus Street, information. A man reported a neighbor walking his dog without a leash and failing to clean up after the dog. The neighbor claimed his dog did not leave a mess.

Bradenton Beach

April 8, 400 Gulf Drive S., beach access, vehicle burglary. Fifteen dollars and a diamond ring valued at $400 were reported stolen from an unlocked car sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. April 6.

April 12, 1800 Gulf Drive S., Coquina Park, animal complaint. A man visiting from Georgia reported a dog bite. Bradenton Beach Police Department observed a minor scrape from teeth or claws. EMS advised the man to keep the area clean with soap and water.

April 14, 100 Gulf Drive N., criminal mischief. Graffiti was etched into wet concrete poured for the entrance to a new parking lot. The city engineer told police the vandalism occurred overnight while the cement was drying April 7-8. She estimated $1,000 damage for a re-pour or resurfacing the driveway.

Cortez

April 8, 3600 block of 115th Street West, Sunny Shores Mobile Home Park, fraud. Tax returns for the years 2009-12 were filed using the complainant’s identity without his knowledge or permission.

Holmes Beach

        April 4, 500 block of 72nd Street, domestic battery. A witness told police that a woman attacked another woman while she was asleep. The aggressor pulled the woman’s ear, which started bleeding. When the Holmes Beach Police Department arrived, the aggressor was no longer at the residence. A law enforcement alert was issued for the suspect.

April 8, 6300 block of Flotilla Drive, theft. Left unlocked in a carport, a silver Schwinn Beach Cruiser with an attached saddlebag and tools were reported stolen April 7-8. The items were valued at $350.

April 9, 5100 block on the beach, warrant. Wearing night vision goggles, a police officer found a man sleeping on a beach at about 3:30 a.m. The officer determined MCSO had a warrant for the man’s arrest in connection with dealing in stolen property. He was turned over to MCSO for transport and booking at the Manatee County jail.

April 9, 3400 block of Marina Drive, license. An officer issued a summons to a motorist who was driving on a suspended license. He also seized the vehicle tag.

April 10, 4900 block of Second Avenue, marijuana possession. An officer approached an 18-year-old woman sitting in the driver’s seat in a parked vehicle in the middle of 49th Street. The officer smelled cannabis and found a hollowed-out cigar containing marijuana in the driver’s door. She was issued a notice to appear in court for the drug possession and a citation for obstructing the intersection.

April 11, 500 block of 67th Street, marijuana possession. An 18-year-old passenger was charged with misdemeanor possession of cannabis. After an officer stopped a motorist and asked if there was any illegal substance in the vehicle, one passenger pulled out marijuana and said it was his.

April 12, 752 Manatee Ave., Kingfish Boat Ramp, battery. Two brothers fought near the boat ramp. The aggressor was allegedly intoxicated and had thrown his brother into the water. Even though the victim did not want to press charges, based on witness statements, HBPD arrested the aggressor and transported him to jail.
