Bradenton Beach resident John Metz asked Judge Andrew D. Owens Jr. in an April 19 letter to strike Jack Clarke’s name from the Bradenton Beach recall election ballot.
Metz made the plea in an “emergency” letter to the judge, citing Florida’s “Resign-to-Run” law.
He reviewed the situation in Bradenton Beach, cited state provisions and claimed that Clarke is ineligible to run against Bradenton Mayor Bill Shearon on the ballot in which Shearon faces a recall question.
