Key Royale golf action
The Key Royale Club women played a nine-hole, red-white-and-gold golf match April 7, teeing off from a set color tee on each hole.
Sue Little fired a 3-under-par 29 to take first place in Flight A with Penny Williams, Pam Lowry and Heather Pritchard tied for second at 1-under-par 31. Sue Christenson, Cristina Mason and Marcia Helgeson all carded 3-under-par 29s to finish in a tie for first place in Flight B. Terry Westby’s 4-under-par 28 gave her low net round of the day and first place in Flight C. Trish Kruger was one shot back in second place, while Kathy Miller won low net in Flight D with a 4-over-par 36.
Horseshoe winners
Three teams advanced to the knockout stage during April 8 horseshoe action at the Anna Maria City Hall horseshoe pits. The team of Debbie Rhodes and Tim Sofran drew the bye into the finals and watched as Dom Lividoti strolled past Marvin Gangemi and Rod Bussey by a 21-9 score to earn their spot. Lividoti stayed hot in the finals, tossing up a 21-0 victory over Rhodes- Sofran.
Two teams earned a spot in the playoffs with 3-0 pool-play records during April 11 horseshoe action. Steve Doyle completed the sweep for the walkers, sauntering past Hank Huyghe and Dom Lividoti by a 21-14 score to earn the day’s bragging rights.
Play gets underway at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday at the Anna Maria City Hall pits. Warmups begin at 8:45 a.m. and everyone is welcome.
