Bradenton Beach
May 6, 2300 block of Avenue B, felony burglary. An unknown person burglarized a home by breaking out a window and unlocking a door. The suspect took a pistol from the master bedroom.
May 7, 2200 block of Avenue B, simple battery. A man was walking his dogs late at night when he noticed a vehicle speeding on the street. The man stuck his leg out to protect his dogs and the driver stopped, exited the car, approached the dog-walker and punched him in the face.
May 9, 200 Bridge St., disorderly intoxication. Bradenton Beach police officers responded to a call of two men in a fight on the Historic Bridge Street Pier. One man was threatening the other man and the people around them with a knife. The aggressor was taken into custody.
May 9, 200 block of Bridge Street, trespass. An officer responded to calls of four people loitering, drinking in public and swearing on the pier. All were trespassed from the pier.
May 11, 100 Bridge St., noise complaint. Police responded to a complaint about loud music at the Freckled Fin restaurant. The complainant told officers the noise was an ongoing problem and asked for a decibel reading, however, the decibel reader could not be found. Officers asked the restaurant owner to turn the music down.
May 13, 100 block of Bridge Street, trespass warning. A business owner called officers to trespass a camper at the rear of the property. The camper was given a trespass warning.

Cortez
May 3, 4400 block of 101st Street West, burglary. A woman entered into a residence and became enraged upon seeing a female with her former spouse. She grabbed a beer bottle, threw it through the front window and fled. A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy found her in Bradenton, arrested her based on affidavits and transported her to jail.
May 5, 10300 block of Cortez Road, domestic battery. After grabbing a phone out of a family member’s hand and fleeing from a residence, a woman was arrested at a friend’s house.
May 7, 4400 block of 106th Street West, domestic. No physical injuries were found by MCSO deputies dispatched for a disturbance.

Holmes Beach
May 2, 100 block of 73rd Street, domestic. A man and woman were walking and arguing. A witness reported the man struck the woman in the chest, pushed her over the car and spanked her. The witness also reported the man ordered the woman into a white Ford and they left at a high rate of speed. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
May 2, 3800 block of Gulf Drive, theft. Two lawn chairs valued at $150 were reported stolen.
May 3, 3900 E. Bay Drive, Publix, shoplifting. A suspect unloaded a cart of beer into a white pickup and left the Publix parking lot traveling east on Manatee Avenue. The 11 stolen 24-packs of Bud Light were valued at $236. A store manager gave police a DVD containing the surveillance recording of the incident.
May 4, 600 block of Dundee Lane, battery. A man walked into the police station and reported another man punched him in the jaw, knocking him to the ground. The victim was undecided about pressing charges so the case remained open.
May 6, 4700 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria Elementary, cyberbullying. An iPad with evidence of cyberbullying was turned into the principal and then to police. The school took disciplinary action against the student. A police investigation is pending based on the parents of the victim and their decision on pursuing charges.
May 6, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, criminal mischief. Scratches to a 2011 Prius parked at the beach were reported by its owner.
May 7, 100 block of 50th Street, hit and run. An officer was flagged down by utility and construction workers who reported a vehicle crash in which the offending motorist fled. Police tracked the driver to the shore at the Manatee Public Beach and issued him a civil citation for careless driving and a summons for leaving the crash.
