The city of Holmes Beach needs a new permits clerk in the building department.
Robyn Kinkopf, first hired by the city in 2011, was let go at the end of the June 19 work day.
In an email, Kinkopf expressed her surprise, but otherwise declined to comment.
According to Kinkopf’s personnel file, she was undergoing a personal improvement plan to remedy deficiencies co-workers identified in her performance. The end of the review period was June 19, and building official Jim McGuiness terminated her employment at the end of the day.
On June 5, McGuiness notified plans examiner David Greene he was “relieved” of his duties.
Kinkopf had been in the position since March 2013. She began working for the city as assistant deputy clerk in October 2011.
In notes in her personnel file dated June 19, Kinkopf cited bullying from co-workers, constant interruptions and ever-changing workplace rules as reasons her performance might have been suffering. “Bullying is a serious workplace problem and it was affecting my mental and physical health,” she said in the note.
City clerk Stacey Johnson said the city has not posted the position, but plans to in the near future.
