May 6, 700 block of South Bay Boulevard, theft. A woman reported an unknown person stole rope that extended across her driveway.
May 15, 200 block of Elm Avenue, domestic disturbance. Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a couple arguing but it apparently did not become physical. There was no sign of violence when deputies arrived.
May 18, 200 block of Pine Avenue. A motorist was stopped for a traffic infraction. The deputy determined the driver’s license was suspended and he seized it roadside.
May 18, 100 block of Hammock Road, trash can theft.
May 20, 500 block of Pine Avenue, warrant. An out-of-county warrant was served on a 47-year-old man for a violation of probation.

Bradenton Beach
May 14, 200 block of Bridge Street, trespass warning. Officers responded to a call of a suspicious person on the city pier harassing pier guests. The report stated the man was trying to sell people something. Officers found bead bracelets on the man, who said he was giving them away. The man was issued a trespass warning.
May 16, 900 block of Gulf Drive South, misdemeanor theft. A fishing pole was stolen from a dwelling. Other items were disturbed during the incident. There were no suspects.
May 24, 1600 Gulf Drive South, criminal mischief. A custodian at Coquina Public Beach complained of broken soap dispensers, broken toilet paper holders and missing toilet paper from a beach restroom facility. It was noted in the report that two weeks earlier an unidentified person had removed the toilet paper and “tee-peed” the trees outside the same restroom.
May 25, 100 block of 10th Street South, possession of paraphernalia. A multicolored glass pipe with marijuana residue and 7.5 grams of marijuana was found in a man’s car during a traffic stop. The items were seized and the suspect was detained.
May 25, 100 block of Bridge Street, felony grand theft. Officers responded to a call of items missing from a vehicle. The victim believed the items were taken the pervious day. Prescription medication, checks, a purse, cash and a GPS were reported stolen.
May 26, 100 block of Bridge Street, burglary to a vehicle. An iPhone, charger, phone case, battery pack, sunglasses and a credit card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a restaurant. The victim located the phone in Bradenton through a “find my phone” app.

Cortez
May 17, 3800 block of 116th Street Court West, battery. A woman reported she’d left home to pick up laundry when she encountered someone who poked her eye. A dispatched Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed redness and emergency medical services transported the woman to Manatee Memorial Hospital.
May 19, 10100 block of Cortez Road, domestic disturbance. Two family members were in an argument over drinking habits. Both denied to the MCSO that any violence had occurred.
May 20, 12112 Cortez Road, Cortez post office, found property. A woman found a large set of keys after the post office had closed. She told the MCSO that they could be U.S. Postal Service property. A deputy picked them up from the woman’s residence.
May 21, 4528 119 St. W., Cortez Kitchen, theft. A man visiting from St. Petersburg reported the theft of his wallet. He told MCSO he had placed the wallet on a counter while he was eating at the bar May 16.

Holmes Beach
May 16, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, theft. An alleged theft of $4,500 in furniture belonging to a woman being cared for outside her home is under investigation.
May 17, 600 block of Key Royale Drive, criminal mischief. A mailbox shaped like a golf ball was thrown near the front door May 16-17. It was valued at $300.
May 18, 8100 block of Palm Drive, theft. Pool pavers were reported stolen from a Beach to Bay construction site. A witness told police said he observed two females in a white minivan loading up the pavers.
May 18, 100 block of 49th Street, theft. A man posing as a refrigerator repairman entered a rental residence holding a screwdriver and pliers. He walked from room to room and then fled in an unknown direction. The victim later noticed $120 was missing from her purse in a bedroom.
May 20, 8500 block of Gulf Drive, vehicle. A Holmes Beach police officer ran a vehicle tag and determined it was not on its assigned vehicle. He also determined the registration had been canceled and the tag had been surrendered in 2014. Post-Miranda, the driver told the officer he’d switched a tag from his old vehicle to the one he was driving. He was issued summonses for wrong tag and unregistered vehicle.
