Two sex offenders move in

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reports two new sex offenders have relocated to the area.

One is classified as a permanent move to Cortez and the other as a reported address in Anna Maria.

A 35-year-old man moved to Cortez in the 4400 block of 102nd Street West, according to a May 29 FDLE news release.

He was convicted in 2001 of two counts of aggravated sexual assault in Brown County, Texas.

A June 5 FDLE news release reports a 49-year-old man convicted of a sex offense has moved to the 100 block of Gull Drive in Anna Maria.

The 49-year-old was convicted in 2010 of incest with a minor in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Under Florida law, offenders are required to register change of addresses.

Besides the one convicted sex offender in Anna Maria, there are two convicted sex offenders living in Bradenton Beach, five convicted sex offenders living in Holmes Beach and three convicted sex offenders who live in Cortez.
