The Florida Department of Transportation issued these alerts for motorists driving in the area:
• SR 789/Gulf Drive at the Longboat Pass Drawbridge: The bridge will close to traffic overnight from midnight each night to 5 a.m. each morning for two consecutive nights, tentatively planned for Thursday, July 9, and Friday, July 10. Traffic will be detoured onto New Pass Bridge and US 41 while crews are working.
• SR 789/Gulf Drive from the Longboat Pass Drawbridge to SR 64/Manatee Avenue: Crews will sweep bicycle lanes 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through July 14. Look for possible lane closures.
• SR 64/Manatee Avenue at the Anna Maria Island Bridge: Crews are working on the bridge. Expect single-lane closures 9 p.m.-5 a.m. beginning Monday, July 13, and continuing into the fall. Daytime sidewalk closures also may occur. Coastal Marine Construction is the contractor.
