Bradenton Beach man charged with DUI

The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a 44-year-old Bradenton Beach man for driving impaired following a traffic stop in Bradenton.

Vincent Michael Ramsey was arrested after an FHP trooper estimated his vehicle was traveling at 55 mph in a 35-mph zone.

According to the police report, the trooper began following Ramsey at 3:26 a.m. July 24, driving east bound on Cortez Road West near Fifth Street.

The officer stopped the vehicle at First Street and U.S. 301 Boulevard East and allegedly noticed an odor of alcohol coming from Ramsey, bloodshot and glassy eyes and slurred speech.

Ramsey refused to perform field sobriety exercises or provide a breath sample.

He was transported to Manatee County jail, posted $500 bond and was released.

Ramsey’s court arraignment is set for Aug. 24 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
