Irene Lois Bacon

Irene Lois Bacon died Aug. 5 in Bradenton.

She was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Flint, Michigan.

She graduated as a registered nurse from the U.S. Army Nurse Cadet program in 1947. She married John D. Bacon on May 1, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Flint. She spent many summers at their home on Runyan Lake in Fenton, Michigan, and had had a home in Bradenton Beach since 1972.

Burial will be at the Veterans National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fl. A celebration of life will be at a later date.

She is survived by husband John; daughter Debbie of Bradenton, son Norman of Fenton, two granddaughters, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

 

Margaret Jane Bailey

Margaret Jane Bailey, 62, of Bradenton, died June 22.

She was born in Harford City, Indiana, and she moved to Bradenton Beach in 1977.

She is survived by her children Jody, Amelia Jordan and Joshua of Harford City and Jeremiah of Tampa; siblings Cris’s Adams and Debbie Richardson of Harford City, Don Adams of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Cindy Adams of Boone, North Carolina, Tamara Burns and Sharon Kee of Bradenton, five grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

 

Denny H. McClarren

Denny H. McClarren, 79, of Holmes Beach, died Aug. 9.

He was born in St. Louis and moved in 2001 to Holmes Beach from Wheaton, Illinois, in 2001.

He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Holmes Beach and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Brown and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Survivors include wife Judy; sons Tim and wife Sharon of San Francisco and Mike and wife Desiree of Porterfield, Wisconsin; daughter Kelly Schultz of Winfield, Missouri; brother Tom and wife Rose of St. Louis; sister Mary Ellen Aldrich of Florissant, Missouri; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

John Lee Waring Jr.

John Lee Waring Jr., 51, of Bradenton, died July 31.

He grew up on Anna Maria Island, where his grandparents had a home for 35 years.

He attended Manatee High School and Manatee Community College and worked in construction, installing metal roofing.

He is survived by mother Phyllis Haught of Melbourne, father John Lee Waring Sr. of Lakeland, sister Beth Daniels of Melbourne, brother Joseph Waring of Sarasota and a niece and nephew.

A memorial service was held Aug. 15 at Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria.
