Derek Hearn, a diver with Tetra Tech, a consulting and engineering firm contracted by Bridge Design Associates of West Palm Beach, stands July 29 in waist-high water, while using a video camera to survey the structure under the Anna Maria City Pier, 100 S. Bay Blvd. Hearn was tasked with maneuvering through the pier’s pilings to shoot video of the support system. The collected data will be assessed and returned with any repair recommendations to Anna Maria officials. Crew at the pier said they expect to have the data to the city by the end of August.
