Jeanette Marie Frint
Jeanette Marie Frint, 82, of Holmes Beach, died Aug. 23.
She was born May 30, 1933, in Boone County, Illinois, where she lived most of her life until 1990, when she moved to Bradenton.
She owned and operated the Smak Drive In with husband Jack for nearly 20 years.
She worked in bookkeeping and office management, including the past 15 years at Casa del Mar condominiums on Longboat Key.
She was an avid card player and loved reading, swimming and spending time with family. She fell in love with dancing at the Bradenton Dance Center. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a former member of Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria, where she was a deacon.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Bible Baptist Church, 2113 Morgan Johnson Road, Bradenton. Donations may be made to the Manatee County Public Library System or the American Lung Association. Condolences may be made at brownandsonsfuneral.com.
Survivors include son Jefferey and wife Belinda; daughter Julia and husband Brian Schultz; sisters June and husband Horace Gilley, Yvonne and husband Gordon Shook and Carol Shawvan-Heinze and husband Emory of Plant City; brother Ivan and wife Bonnie Shawvan; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grand children; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend DM Williams.
David W. Hartmeyer
David W. Hartmeyer, 71, of Anna Maria, died Aug. 18.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
He was a long-time newspaper carrier on Anna Maria Island.
A memorial service was held Aug. 24 at the Sarasota National Cemetery. The family requested donations to www.woundedwarriorproject.org
He is survived by mother Grace; brothers Gregory, James and wife Jacquie, Jan and wife Rosario; and his beloved parrot Hershel.
Richard Allen ‘Rick’ Lenerise
Richard Allen “Rick” Lenerise, 68, of Ellenton, died Aug. 9.
He was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Bremerton, Washington.
He was an avid restaurateur, first opening The Pub on Longboat Key, which hosted many “Full Moon Party” celebrations, and later helping to design and open the Bridge Tender Inn in Bradenton Beach and serving as the first manager of that establishment.
He was known to restaurant patrons at Cafe L’Europe on St. Armands Circle and on Anna Maria Island at Café Robar, the Sandbar Restaurant and Rebeccas’s Bistro.
Most recently he and his wife owned and operated the Parrot Inn Vacation Rentals in Bradenton and Dolphin Cleaning and Maintenance.
Covell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by wife Sandra; daughter Kristen and husband Craig Terrell; granddaughters Jordana, Victoria and Olivia Terrell; mother Patsy Taylor; foster brothers and sisters Rick Coons of Pskov, Russia, Terry Coons of Arizona City, Arizona, Lynnell Shirts of Las Vegas, Julia Jennings of Rathdrum, Idaho, Valleen Anderson of Wasilla, Alaska, and Pattimae Ayerbe of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
