Twelfth Circuit Court Judge Diana Moreland ordered a 20-year prison sentence Oct. 20 for William J. Cumber III in a Manatee County courtroom.
Cumber stood emotionless with his attorney, Assistant Public Defender Franklin Roberts, who, with Assistant State Attorney Art Brown, agreed that Cumber met the terms of a “cooperation agreement,” entitling him to a two-year reduction in his initial 22 year one-month sentence.
Cumber was found guilty of murdering 49-year-old Anna Maria Island businesswoman Sabine Musil-Buehler as part of an Oct. 15 plea deal that led authorities to find her remains on the beach in Holmes Beach, north of the 81st Street access.
Cumber’s sentence to the Florida Department of Correction includes credit for time served since his 2012 arrest.
At the sentencing hearing, Moreland also reserved the amount of restitution Cumber will pay.
Glad hes admitted it, and shes been found, but he should never get let out. Hes taken a womens life and his freedom should be forfeit.
Right but if it were not for plea deal, we wouldn’t know where she was and there would be no closure.
