A 36-year-old man pleaded no contest Nov. 9 to attempted stalking in a 2014 case involving social media messages.
Jessie Jones of Bradenton was seen outside the victim’s Holmes Beach workplace after allegedly sending threatening Facebook messages in violation of a domestic injunction, according to a Holmes Beach Police Department probable cause affidavit.
Twelfth Circuit Court Judge Deno Economou accepted Jones’ plea to a reduced charge and withheld his adjudication. The judge sentenced Jones to 24 months probation as well as a mental health and drug evaluation, and treatment if necessary.
Jones was ordered not to contact the victim via the phone, in writing or in person.
He also was ordered to pay $1,165, including $201 to a domestic violence trust and $151 to a rape crisis trust fund.
