Bradenton man arrested for drugs, paraphernalia
Stopped by Holmes Beach Police Department for an expired vehicle registration, an 18-year-old motorist was arrested for possessing marijuana, cocaine and paraphernalia.
Officer Michael Walker pulled over Juan C. Avellaneda for an expired tag and noticed a “very distinct odor of fresh marijuana” coming from the vehicle, according to the police report.
In a search of the vehicle, Walker found marijuana, a grinder with marijuana and a small digital scale.
While checking Avellaneda’s wallet, the officer found 0.5 grams of cocaine.
Avellaneda was transported to and booked at the Manatee County jail. He was released on $2,500 bond.
His arraignment is set for Dec. 18 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
