Elaine Wallace recalled how she and her family survived a deadly tornado in 1967 in Oak Lawn, huddling under her mother. The couple arrived to Sarasota from Illinois Jan. 17, hours after the storm produced tornadoes at Siesta Key and Duette, where a couple was killed and their son and four grandchildren suffered injuries.
