A wide turn in a 2004 Lincoln from Gulf Drive onto Manatee Avenue led to the arrest of a Holmes Beach woman for driving impaired.
Alysa R. Oxendine, 31, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. Dec. 18 by Holmes Beach Police Officer Alan Bores, who followed her vehicle eastbound on Manatee Avenue and observed it weaving, according to an HBPD report.
The officer stopped Oxendine at 12100 Manatee Ave. W. in Bradenton and reported a smell of alcohol on her breath. Oxendine allegedly told Bores she’d been at a friend’s house and D.Coy Ducks Bar & Grille in Holmes Beach.
After placing Oxendine in custody, police found 3.6 grams of marijuana, plastic bags and a straw, all containing white powder residue.
Oxendine performed poorly on field sobriety tests, according to the police report. She was transported to Manatee County jail where she provided two breath samples, measuring 0.150 and 0.144. The legal limit is 0.08.
HBPD cited her for DUI, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, as well as for failing to drive in a single lane, license, insurance and registration violations.
Her arraignment is set for Jan. 19 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
