The Rev. Nina J. Douglas
The Rev. Nina J. Douglas of Holmes Beach died Jan. 5. She was born Aug. 24, 1941, in Denver. She spent most of her growing up years in California.
She graduated from Sonoma State College. She had a masters’ degree in administration. In 1980, she received her seminary degree from the United Church of Religious Science, where she was valedictorian. She was the minister for three churches over a 25-year period.
In 2005, she left the ministry to become chaplain with the Sun Coast Hospice Organization.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at 1 White Ave., Holmes Beach.
She is survived by partner David Hardaker; daughters Leslie Tognetti and husband Lawrence and sons Austin and Hudson, Shawn Lutus and sons Garrett and Gavin, Megan Campagna and husband Brian and daughters Antonia and Juliana, Marne Salinas and husband Amador and son Amador III and daughter Alexandria; stepchildren Joey Hardaker and wife Jackie, Dana Holister and husband Joe and Tim Hardaker; step granddaughter Challee; step great-granddaughter Aubrey; sister Karen Morris, niece Kristen and nephews Brandon, Randal and Barrett.
William “Bill” F. Dunn
William “Bill” F. Dunn, 88, of the Sunny Shores community in Cortez, died Dec. 27, 2015. He was born July 20, 1927, in Philadelphia and lived in Levittown, Pennsylvania.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Marine Division.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Sunny Shores Community Clubhouse, 115th St. W. and 38th Ave W., Cortez.
Survivors include daughter Mary Ann of Trenton, New Jersey; sons Michael of Bradenton and Andrew and wife Susan of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Jennifer N. of New York City, Megan M. of Bristow, Virginia, and Kevin P. of Washington Crossing; sisters Catherine Walerski and Rose Wiegand of Philadelphia and Patricia and husband Joseph Scully of Stratford, New Jersey.
Kathleen S. Uttendorfer
Kathleen S. Uttendorfer, 93, Bradenton, died Jan. 14.
She was born in Passaic, New Jersey and moved to Bradenton in 1995 from Wantagh, New York.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Holmes Beach, the Guild of St. Bernard Catholic Church and she was a hospice volunteer since 1999.
A Mass was to be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 248 S. Harbor Drive, Holmes Beach. Burial was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Fogartyville Cemetery, 4200 Third Ave. NW, Bradenton. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota FL 34238. She is survived by sons Dr. Michael and wife Susan of Wantagh, and Daniel and wife Nancy of Kingston, New York; daughters Patricia and husband John Heslin of Bradenton, and Eileen and husband James Kerley of Wantagh; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
