A motorist arrested for driving under the influence in Bradenton Beach was sentenced to 12 months probation, a six-month driver’s license suspension and 50 hours of public service.
Antonio N. Berardi, 53, of Bradenton, pleaded no contest to the DUI on Feb. 2 and was adjudicated guilty.
Twelfth Circuit Judge Charles Sniffin sentenced Berardi to attend a DUI program, including evaluation and treatment, if necessary.
The sentence also included an order to impound Berardi’s vehicle for 10 days, leaving open an early termination of the probation upon completion of the terms.
Bradenton Beach police officer and other witnesses observed Berardi driving erratically Oct. 31, 2015, on Bridge Street and Gulf Drive North — almost backing into three pedestrians. The officer stopped Berardi and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office made the DUI arrest.
Berardi’s blood-alcohol content measured 0.136 and 0.155, according to the MCSO report. The legal limit is 0.08.
Fines, court and probation costs of $1,891 have been assessed to Berardi, according to court records.
