A no-contest plea deal was entered in the 12th Judicial Circuit case of a Bradenton man who smashed his truck into a bank drive-through in Holmes Beach.
John Spiwak, 46, pleaded no contest Dec. 28 to driving under the influence with property damage and possession of marijuana.
Judge Charles Sniffin found Spiwak guilty of DUI, withheld adjudication on the drug charge and sentenced him to 12 months probation on both charges.
Spiwak was arrested in March 2015 by Holmes Beach police after his vehicle struck equipment at the Bank of America, 699 Manatee Ave.
HBPD also ticketed Spiwak for careless driving and illegal parking.
The probation order requires Spiwak to attend DUI school and a victim-impact panel and to receive a substance-abuse evaluation and treatment, if necessary.
Spiwak’s driver’s license was suspended for six months and his vehicle was impounded for 10 days.
He was fined more than $1,100 court costs and fines.
