Making a U-turn out of a parking space in a 2013 Porsche, a Bradenton Beach man hit a parked car and struck a pole on Bridge Street — causing about $1,200 damage. No injuries were reported.
Raymond St Louis, 52, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Feb. 29 at 120 Bridge St. for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Bradenton Beach Police Officer Mike Bazell observed as the Porsche struck the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene.
Bazell investigated the crash and ticketed St Louis for careless driving. The officer noticed signs of the driver’s impairment and called MSCO for assistance.
MCSO Deputy Michael Makai responded and performed field sobriety tests.
The deputy transported St Louis to the Manatee County jail where he provided three breath samples, measuring 0.183, 0.206 and 0.208 blood alcohol content. The legal limit is 0.08 BAC.
He was appointed a public defender, who pleaded not guilty on St Louis’ behalf. His bond was set at $620.
St Louis was in custody March 9, pending his court arraignment 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
