The same day a 31-year-old Bradenton Beach man was sentenced in one heroin case he was served in another.
An arrest warrant was served March 30 upon Harry M. Holmes Jr. in Manatee County jail — the day 12th Circuit Judge Deno Economou adjudicated his guilt in a November 2015 heroin possession case and sentenced him to 45 days in jail.
The new warrant stems from an April 2015 Bradenton police narcotics unit-U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration sting in the 5300 block of 26th Street West, Bradenton, according to a BPD report.
Police allegedly observed Holmes meet a man in an apartment parking lot, followed him, stopped Holmes’ vehicle and found 1.8 grams of heroin in Holmes’ pocket.
A public defender filed a not guilty plea April 1 on behalf of Holmes.
Holmes’ arraignment is set before Economou at 9 a.m. Friday, April 29, in the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
