Holmes Beach man arrested for DUI

Clocked at 65 mph in a 25-mph zone, a motorcyclist was stopped by the Holmes Beach Police Department and arrested for driving under the influence.

Jason C. Benn, 40, of Holmes Beach, was pulled over at 12:06 a.m. May 1 in the 5200 block of Marina Drive and arrested for DUI with a prior conviction, according to an HBPD report.

Benn allegedly told police he was going home from the Anchor Inn and had consumed “one beer.”

He also was ticketed for speeding.

Benn provided two breath samples, measuring 0.228 and 0.212 blood-alcohol content. The legal limit is 0.08.

He was booked at the Manatee County jail and released after posting a $500 bond.

Benn’s arraignment is set for 8:25 a.m. Friday, June 1, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
