The Florida red tide organism, Karenia brevis, persists along Manatee, Pinellas, Sarasota and Charlotte counties in Southwest Florida.
K. brevis was observed at background to very low concentrations in Manatee; background to very low concentrations in Pinellas; background to low concentrations in Sarasota County; background concentrations in Charlotte; and background concentrations in Collier.
Fish kills and respiratory irritation were not reported in Southwest Florida over the past week.
