David Craig
David Craig, 78, of Holmes Beach and Enfield, Connecticut, died June 24. He was born Jan. 9, 1938, in Boston.
No local services will be held. A memorial service will be held in Enfield at a later date. Arrangements were by Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel in Bradenton. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s and Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton.
He is survived by wife Joan M.; children Susan Graham and husband Dave of Punta Gorda, Doreen Scibelli and husband Kevin of Somers, Connecticut, Steve and wife Karen of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Scott and wife Brandy of Columbia, Connecticut; grandchildren, Danny, Jessica, Nicole, Matt, Ryan, Taylor, Domonique, Megan, Michael and Ava; sister Fran Fifield of Shelby, Township, Michigan; brother Charlie Craig of Cinnaminson, New Jersey; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Stacy Collier Frank
Stacy Collier Frank, 61, of Anna Maria and Tampa, died June 25 in Tampa.
She was born in Washington, D.C., and came to Florida in 1961, where her father, Richard “Dick” Frank, began his labor law practice and her mother, Pat Frank, started a career in politics.
She was a lifelong fisherwoman, having received her first tackle box at age 7, and was captaining her own boat by 12. She was an excellent marksman.
She attended Plant High School and also attended Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and then Florida State University Law School, where she made law review. She became in-house counsel for TECO before going into private practice and later starting her business negotiating leases and construction of cell towers.
She was a member of the Athena Society, the Hillsborough Commission on the Status of Women, the Tampa Bay Committee on Foreign Relations, Florida Bar Association and the Tampa Yacht & Country Club.
A diehard Democrat who ran her mother’s political campaigns, she loved politics and opened her home and wallet to candidates and causes in which she believed. On her shelves were photos of her with Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and also Hillary Clinton.
At her Anna Maria beach house, she loved nothing more than opening her doors to friends, old and new, serving dinner and arguing politics over wine.
She always loved animals, especially her dog Ladybird.
A memorial event is being planned for July 20. Memorial donations may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center Stacy Frank Fund.
She is survived by mother Pat, of Tampa; sister Hillary and husband Michael Aubin of Jacksonville; sister Courtney of Tampa; aunt Lenore Shniderman; cousin Craig Shniderman and wife Judy of Washington D.C.; niece Courtney Weber; and nephew Collier Weber.
Doris White
Doris (Bazler) White, 89, of Cortez and formerly of Ewing Township, New Jersey died June 30. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Louis Bazler and wife Regina (Zimmerman).
Mrs. White came to Cortez in 1987 with her husband of 63 years, the late Bernard “Bernie” White.
She was a graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford and attended the University of Texas. After raising her four children, she returned to college and received her degree in journalism in 1969 from Rutgers University/Douglas College. From 1970-1987, she was employed by the Hamilton, New Jersey, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (Medicaid).
She volunteered at a woman’s shelter and was a contributing writer for the Mercer Messenger and the Alzheimer’s Association. She resided in Ewing Township 1964-1987.
After retirement in 1987, the couple sailed from New Jersey to their new home in Cortez, where she enjoyed aerobics, dancing, singing, playing the piano, knitting, cooking, cruising and sailing. She was a member of the Suncoast Yacht Club.
Mrs. White volunteered for the Democratic Party of Manatee, walking door-to-door to register voters and driving voters to the polls.
She was an active member of Temple Beth Israel on Longboat Key, where she was the newsletter editor.
She also loved to write short stories and plays.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.

Mrs. White is survived by her children, Lewis and wife Shari of Rockaway, New Jersey, Clarke and wife Dinorah of Ivoryton, Connecticut, Cindi of Barnegat, New Jersey, and Scott and wife Eve of Montclair, New Jersey; grandchildren Seth, Kira, Zach, Mitchell, Jason, Daniel, Jonathan, Stephen, and Ben; brother Freddie of England; sister Ruth of Alaska; nieces Eva, Erika, Adrienne, Marilyn; and nephews Kenny and Aaron.
